Never let the fear of striking
out, keep you from playing the game.

To All AES Softballers

Dear All,

It’s coming close to 6 months that I had been together with AES Softball. As we all look back at the past 6 months, ask yourself: Have you all improve? What have you learn during the past 6 months?

Looking ahead: What do you girls want to achieve in the next 6 months? For next year’s Nationals?

Let me tell you my aim for next year: I want the team to finish in top 10. Can this be achieve? If you ask me, Why not?

This year, close to 20 teams took part in the C Division Nationals. Out of 20 teams we can’t even be in top 10? It’s whether all of you want to do it or not…

If you ask me, have we (Teachers and Coach) push all of you every hard? I can tell you it’s a NO. If you think 2 sessions per week is very tiring, think again. If you think the PT that I had made all of you go through is tiring, think again. In fact, we have given all of you too many opportunities to slack…it’s time we put a stop to all this…

To all the seniors (Sec 2 and 3), you all know how tough this game is, how demanding this game is. Softball is not an easy game, no sports are easy. By the way, when is the last time we even won a game? If you want to win, put in more effort. Nothing can stop a determined team from winning.

Come term 3; look out for more changes to our softball training.

One last issue. I understand that some of you can’t make it for the camp as you have some other stuff on. But what I want is that you all stay behind for the two nights to be with the team. Is that something very difficult? Am I conducting midnight training? Am I going to wake all of you up in the middle of the night to do PT?

Come on, everyone is tired, everyone will be tired, be it where you are, whatever you do. Make the effort to come and join us, I tell you it makes a difference to the team. Simple acts like this make a difference. Its call Team Spirit.

My Message to all AES Softballers: Are all of you with me? Things will get tougher, more challenging. There will be tears, and there will be sweat. As the saying goes: No Pain, No Gain.

If all of you play your part, we will be seeing a very different AES Softball team next year. A More Confident, a more Positive team with a Strong Desire to win. This should be the team that we are fielding next year.

If you are with me, I will be with you. This I promise.

Towards 2011 and Beyond

Regards,

Mr Liu
